ARE monitors all the major marine turbine developers and has a preferred supplier arrangement in place with OpenHydro Group (OHG). OHG is recognised as a leading marine turbine developer and owns and manufactures the Open-Centre Turbine (illustrated below).

This preferred supplier arrangement ensures that ARE has access to a significant proportion of OHG’s future production capacity, but the arrangement is not exclusive or binding if technologies developed by other manufacturers prove to be economically superior. OHG holds a 20% shareholding in ARE.
