Nick Horler (1959)

CEO

Nick brings extensive power generation and distribution experience to ARE, having spent his career in energy. He was Managing Director of EoN and CEO of Scottish Power until October 2010. Currently Chairman of the Energy & Natural Resources Advisory Board at KPMG, Nick is highly respected by his peers within the power and energy sector.

Declan Gaudion (1964)

Executive Director

Declan is one of the original founders of ARE. A former senior civil servant with the States of Alderney, Declan brings extensive knowledge of Harbour, Pilotage and Sea Fisheries operations to ARE. He is also coxswain of the RNLI all weather lifeboat stationed in Alderney.

Allan Hayward (1948)

Chairman/Finance Director

Allan has been a Financial Director of mid-cap and listed companies, and has had an extensive career in global mergers and acquisitions. Allan has been the Vice President of Acquisitions outside of the USA with Snyder Inc. Washington, USA.

Peter Corcoran (1973)

Non-executive Director

Peter is a qualified chartered accountant who spent his early years with Anderson, on audit, finance and consulting assignments for global brands such as Guinness and Oracle. Having previously worked as CFO in the energy supply and software development industries, Peter is currently CFO of OpenHydro, the leading tidal turbine developer.

Christopher McFadyen (1951)

Non-executive Director

Christopher, both a Chartered and Certified accountant, is a founding director of Consortia Partnership Limited, a Jersey registered trust company specialising in trust and fund administration. He sits on the boards of a number of substantial private companies and specialises in areas of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, financial analysis, forensic accounting and litigation support.

Gareth Hughes (1963)

Non-executive Director

Gareth is the former director of Psion PLC, the British technology group and former FTSE 100 company. Gareth is experienced in the commercialisation of evolving technologies, corporate strategies and corporate financing. He has a longstanding association with Alderney.

Richard Bean (1971)

Project Manager

Richard joined the team in March 2011 and brings extensive expertise in renewable energy technolgy development, delivery of power generation projects, marine construction, strategic development, cost & financial analysis and programme management. Richard's career has included various senior project and consulting appointments in GEC Alstom, Siemens and  BAE Systems.

Mike Wrigley (1947)

French Project Consultant

Consulting engineer, having managed process control projects in the UK, the USA, the Netherlands and in France.  Since qualifying as an ISO9001 auditor in 1994 he has worked in France and the Czech Republic. He is a previous Chairman of the French Network of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
