Alderney is the third largest of the UK’s Channel Islands and is located just 8 miles from the French mainland.
Alderney is a Crown Dependency of Britain and sits outside the UK and EU. It has its own democratically elected government, known as the States, which consists of 10 elected members.
Although separate to the States of Guernsey (SOG), Guernsey has responsibility for Alderney’s health, education, police and airport.
The UK’s Ministry of Justice (MOJ) is responsible for Alderney’s foreign policy. Alderney is completely separate from the other Channel Islands of Jersey and Sark.
Mainland UK is about 45 minutes by regular daily flights Jersey and Guernsey about 15 mins.
Telecommunications are excellent, with reliable broadband services readily available.
